As we come to the end of term and this school year, the French Department gave the children of Years 3 and 4 the opportunity to reflect on their learning over the year. A challenge was given to choose – with their teams – a favourite topic and recap and ‘teach’ others about the vocabulary, the memories and the learning that took place, using the medium of their choice. Many chose puppets and face masks to re-enact dialogues and scenarios, others preferring games and worksheets for classmates. As always the children did not disappoint and their creativity and enthusiasm was infectious. Below is a small selection of photographs we took during the lessons, many were also filmed and these have been uploaded to the French Department Youtube channel. Go see for yourself, the creativity of your children!!
Mummies of Year 3,
We really hope that you have had some touching surprises this week, following French classes in Year 3. To celebrate Mother’s Day in France (on the last Sunday in May) the children made some lovely cards, displaying their lovely french writing skills. With enthusiasm and a great deal of loving care, the children took delight in making their little gift. Even more impressively they also learnt a little poem to recite to Mum at home, paying many - well deserved - compliments in French. We hope that you enjoyed it all!! Here are a few images of the children at work. Dear Parents
Can you believe that we are almost at the end of another school year….my how fast they go! The children have covered a lot of ground over these months and hopefully will continue to thrive in French into the next academic year. With this in mind we wanted to inform you of a few things:
