Dear Parents
Here in the JPS French Department we are always striving to ensure that your children are learning practical language skills, enjoying the process of doing so and feeling able to use their ability to good effect. With this in mind we are building up to our first formal assessment for this year.
As stated in previous communications, this year we will focus on the Speaking and Listening capabilities of our French students. The Speaking assessment for Term 1 will take place, across all year groups, during Week 13, commencing Sunday 20th November 2016. Prior to this we will spend the French lesson time, in the week leading up to assessment, allowing the children to prepare a revision poster, where they will collate all of the material they have learnt to that point.
You can, of course, also help your children to prepare by reviewing the Home Learning videos from previous weeks. (We will post a document on respective Year Group Home Learning pages soon, with all relevant links to corresponding videos).
You could also support by encouraging your children to talk aloud with you, practicing their French vocabulary with a willing audience!
Thank you, as always, for your support and co-operation.
Merci!
