The French Department had great delight – this past week – in celebrating a new award, given to the pupil who has shown great interest in reading books in French. From humble beginnings the French language library has become a well-used resource within school, by children of all KS2 year groups. This little corner of school is encouraging independent learning and pupils are showing a voluntary commitment to read in French, to expand their knowledge and vocabulary. So for this first award of the year, a massive ‘Bravo’ goes to Esme Lownds - 3D, who was a prolific borrower of books in Term 1. |
If you haven’t found the French library yet, come to see us at the end of the Year 6 corridor. Feel free to borrow a book – just mark your name against the book title. Who knows, you might be in the running for French Reader for Term 2, just like these young ladies from Year 6…who, together with many others, have already started their New Year by reading in French!! |
