This week Year 5 have been to ‘le Marché’, or rather the market came to them. An array of shopping lists were created by the children, using their knowledge of food & drink and weights & measures vocabulary. Roleplays were written and then, utilising realistic Euro notes and coins, the children acted out a visit to the local market.
From 900 kilos of bonbons (yes really!!), to one dozen eggs and a watermelon, the children have traded and purchased with such enthusiasm. Definitely we have discovered some budding entrepreneurs in Year 5!
